Pocket Shack Terms

Effective October 3, 2026 · Version 1

These terms are part of the Terms of Use for Pocket Shack.

Licensed operation

Listening (monitoring) needs no license. Transmitting requires a valid amateur radio license issued by your country's licensing authority, and you may transmit only within the privileges of that license. You alone are responsible for complying with your country's rules for the amateur service (in the United States, 47 CFR Part 97) for every transmission made from your device, including:

Third-party networks

AllStarLink is an independent network. Pocket Shack is not affiliated with or endorsed by AllStarLink, Inc. AllStarLink is a registered trademark of AllStarLink, Inc. Nodes are owned and operated by independent third parties, who may refuse, disconnect or block any user at any time.

No guarantee of availability

We don't guarantee that the AllStarLink network, any node, or the sign-in services will be available or work correctly.

Not for emergencies

Don't rely on Pocket Shack for emergency or safety-of-life communications. Connections depend on internet service, third-party servers and nodes that may be unavailable. In an emergency, contact emergency services by the most reliable means available.

Transmissions are public

Amateur radio communications aren't private. Others may hear, record and share anything you transmit.

Using Pocket Shack while driving

Use hands-free operation where available, obey local laws on phone and radio use in vehicles, and never operate the app in a way that distracts you from driving.
